Have you ever been an obsessive gym rat? You know the kind of person that keeps a gym bag in their car so that they can be ready at all times to hit those “FUN” machines? Did you go at least five or all seven days of the week?

Was there a time in your life where you worked out constantly? You had your workout regimen down to a science. And then, POOF, suddenly you lost all motivation. You got sick of the same old regimen and soon you were down to a couple of times every other week, until you finally ditched your gym bag, and stopped going all together.

Well, here is the problem – you are jumping in way too fast and burning out. Unless you are going to be in the next Nordiflex Commercial, slow down!

What you really need to do is stop trying to be Arnold Schwarzenegger or Jillian Michaels and just start moving your body again any way that you can. Moderation and consistency and fun are the keys!

Here is a list of five things you can start doing if you haven’t worked out in ages that won‘t even feel like working out.

1. Take a walk around your neighborhood with a friend. This is relaxing and great for you no matter how slow you go!

2. Get your full length mirror, put on your favorite songs, and just start dancing in front of the mirror! This is a lot of fun and you will become hooked fast. Dance clubs work too!

3. Try a couple at home exercises. Do some leg lifts every night, and some sit ups before bed, 10 minutes will do wonders for your body!

4. If you have a pool or an ocean near by, take a dip and move your limbs around in the water. This feels great and the water creates great resistance that aids in toning.

5. Just take it one day at a time, and remember slow and steady wins the race!
